Governance Update 1

This first governance update addresses two matters: the change in scope to the IEA Facebook group page and the changes to the conference presenter-selection process.
Recently, the following text was added to the scope of the IEA FB group:

‘The IEA Facebook group is a community-building forum for promoting IEA-related activities (including chapter- and affiliate-related events), special offers to IEA members, and the discussion of Enneagram-related ideas. We ask that our members not use it as a forum to promote personal activities, programs, or products.’

We added this text with the desire to keep the group focused on what we believe most people join it for – to find out about what is going on in the IEA community and what our members think about the Enneagram. We encourage participation from each and every one of our members, but we also want to limit what gets posted so that group members don’t feel like they have to sift through a lot of unrelated information to get to those things they joined the group for in the first place. There are many, many venues for people to promote personal products and services, so we feel like we are not limiting anyone’s ability to promote themselves or their activities; instead, we are hoping to help reduce the internet-fueled blizzard of information that each of us is subjected to every day.
