Southside Enneagram Discussion GroupMinnesota logo.jpg.jpg

June 3, 2014 – 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.

The Southside Enneagram discussion group meets on the first Tuesday of the month from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at 5224 Minnetonka Blvd, just east of Hwy 100, in the Still Point Art Studio next to St. George’s Church. The entrance is behind the building from the alley way parking area.

June 3rd we will work with a follow up experiential exercise from Jerry Wagner’s April presentation, Nine Lenses on the World: Using Cognitive Therapy to Check Our Enneagram Prescriptions. We will briefly review salient points to support doing the exercise so all will be able to participate whether you were at the workshop or not. Wagner explored schemas which are “deeply entrenched beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world – learned early in life.” They serve as a template or lens by which we process/sort/filter our everyday experiences through our Enneagram Type. We forget we are seeing through the lens and distortions of our Types. The schemas which affect our Enneagram lens can be adaptive or maladaptive.

The Enneagram provides us with Nine lenses to draw on as a resource when we bump into our distortions and the impact on situations in our lives. The exercise Wagner gave us helps explore our current situations through our lens with its strategies as well as what happens when we try on a different lens with other strategies. We look forward to an insightful and lively discussion.
