DESCRIPTION:
Qigong is the ancient art of energy cultivation. Qi means Life Force. Gong means Cultivate. In Qigong, our bodies have three important energy centers: your belly, your heart, and your head. These centers are called Dantians. The three Dantians map directly to the Enneagram’s three centers of awareness.
Qigong takes an embodied approach to transforming imbalances and resistance by relaxing the three centers and sustaining connection with such essential states as potency, unity, sacred alignment, unconditional love, radiance, mystery, clarity, enlightenment, and liberation. Through movement, breathing, and visualization, Qigong practices offer dynamic benefits to Enneagram students. We learn how to quickly release anger, shame, and anxiety. We develop capacities to stay in contact with Presence and take off the blinders of conditioned states. We work on all three centers at once, integrating and harmonizing all nine types within, discovering potentials to flower our unique gifts and talents. Most importantly, we strengthen the critical skills for noticing where our attention is and awakening awareness. As we know in the Enneagram, it is through awakened awareness that we remember who we are. This is the skill and practice that keeps calling us home to our true nature.
During this weekend retreat, participants will learn Qigong philosophy as it relates to the Enneagram and practices to get energy moving in all three centers. We will explore encountering and opening to higher states of consciousness and how to harness ourselves to the present moment. These practices are a lively and spirited way to fuse with the emergence of the Holy Ideas and Virtues. We will holistically weave higher states of consciousness into perception so that we experience more wisdom, love, vitality, grounding, inspiration, kindness, and compassion. We will move beyond observation and habit change into a profound dialogue with Life itself. A special Saturday evening session is planned for those wishing to relax their whole nervous system and deeply nourish the ground of Being.
