We all know that death is inevitable and yet when we are faced with the reality of death we can feel completely unmoored, floundering in a sea of overwhelming thoughts, feelings and sensations. When a loved one is dying or when a diagnosis forces us to face our own death, we struggle. We don’t know what to do or what to say and may be hesitant to “burden” others with our feelings so we just try to get through it. At the same time, we want to be there, to be present to ourselves and to our loved ones, to see and be seen, to love and be loved, to forgive and be forgiven. How can we navigate this unfamiliar and uncomfortable territory in a way that honors the whole experience?
“Death and the Enneagram” is an invitation to engage in an intentional conversation about death and dying with curiosity, openness, wonder and humor using the Enneagram as a lens. How does one’s Ennea-type influence and impact one’s experience of death? How can we use the Enneagram map of personal transformation as a way to talk about, engage with, prepare for and even embrace this final act of letting go? Join us and find out! Although the primary focus of this event is physical death and dying, we all experience many “small deaths'' throughout our lives. This conversation will increase our ability to navigate these difficult experiences with greater self awareness.
