Presenter: Tim Vreeland

Contemporary American architecture (from 1890 to the present day) can be defined in terms of three architects whose distinctive buildings represent a uniquely American character: Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), Louis Kahn 1907-1974) and Frank Gehry (1929-). These seminal artists are of three different Enneagram types (from different Centers) and three different subtypes. Tim Vreeland, who studied with and later worked for Louis Kahn, is also a longtime friend and colleague of Frank Gehry’s.Vreeland will discuss the individual types of these three architects and illustrate through slides how their Enneagram styles have contributed to the richness and diversity of our national architecture.

Tim Vreeland has had a distinguished career in architecture and the arts. Educated in Paris and in Rome, he holds undergraduate and architecture degrees from Yale University. His teaching career at several American universities, including the University of Pennsylvania and UCLA, extends over forty years. Currently retired, he paints.
