Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won’t part us now.

– Westside Story, One hand One heart

Dear Hudson,

It is the holiday season now and we cannot celebrate as we have in the past. We are making many exceptions and it all seems very painful. So, I look to love to heal.

I am writing this article due on December 20th, 2020. But it will not be published until January 2021. What that day will bring no one yet knows?

What is certain is that my love for you will never die. I will continue to hold your hand and walk through the doorway and embrace our true virtue. Always together. Always as one.

Love, Gaga Lala

For children, loving kindness is natural. There is no mystery. It just is.  For adults, not so much.

Russ Hudson: “It’s natural for children to be kind to themselves. Therefore, it is a natural state for all of us to be kind to ourselves and others. Kindness goes in both directions: towards us and towards others.”

Without love, we cease to exist. One falls into the abyss of the machine here on earth. And, if you are doing the work, you know that the most difficult thing for you to do is love yourself.

In 2020 I felt as though the world had been gutted. As the fragile surface was hacked away the rot and decay that had accumulated for years became exposed. Everything needing fixing. Everything was broken. The Heart. The mind. The body. The fragile human being. Not a working unit of complete essence.

This is one of the reasons the enneagram is such an important tool. A tool to be used properly. Put into practice every day. And one must use it to expand. Growing that love of self and others.  “It is about learning to show up and weave, with other souls, the world we actually want to live in.” -Russ Hudson

In 2021 we will have to put the doorway back together. Piece by piece. Patiently. Gently sanding off the rust, replacing the rotten wood, polishing the self, and begin to open the heart again.

2021 will be the year to celebrate the heart. Take someone’s hand and walking through the doorway to our true virtue. Taking someone’s hand and walking through the doorway. The doorway to love.

I leave 2020 to begin 2021 with the words to one of my favorite songs by Stephen Sondheim / Leonard Bernstein. I first heard this song while watching the musical West Side Story on a regular television. There is also a beautiful recording with Barbra Steisand and Josh Groban.

Someday, somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living
Will find a way of forgiving
Somewhere

There’s a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air wait for us
Somewhere

There’s a time for us
Someday there’ll be a time for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn, time to care

Someday, somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living
Will find there’s a way of forgiving
Somewhere, somewhere, somewhere

There’s a place for us
A time and a place for us
Hold my hand and we’re halfway there
Hold my hand and I’ll take you there
Somehow, someday, somewhere
